Fly Agaric & Knotted Grass

(This is a working document written without AI)
Vibrant, nibbled and dirty mushroom photographed near Garth in Powys mid wales. I have copied some knots directly from the Lindesfarne Gospels with no innovations from my side. The Lindesfarne Gospels are attributed to Bishop Eadfrith (d.722), based on an inscription added many years after his death. Copying a poor translation of only 3 small knots has completely adhered a new respect to the author and the greater manuscript. The man who created the Lindesfarne Gospels was an astonishingly talented and fascinating artist and craftsman beyond his wider role as an active member of his monestary dedicated to St.Cuthbert.
I have stitched around the edges with plated brass chain and brass wire. The chain frame moves and dangles deliberately.
22cm wide and 71cm long when hanging.
